Aquis Search has partnered with a leading global chemical multinational in their search for a Regional Counsel – North Asia, based in Shanghai.
This is a sole counsel role with full ownership of the legal function across North Asia, working closely with senior business leadership and global stakeholders. The mandate offers a high degree of visibility and autonomy, with direct exposure to strategic decision-making in a complex, cross-border environment.
The role will cover a broad spectrum of responsibilities including:
- End-to-end legal support across commercial, regulatory and corporate matters
- Advising on cross-border transactions and regional business initiatives
- Managing external counsel across multiple jurisdictions
- Driving legal strategy aligned with business objectives in North Asia
Key requirements:
- 10+ years PQE
- Must have prior experience working with a multinational organisation
- Strong grounding in chemical / manufacturing sector (highly preferred)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with a leading international law firm
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently in a standalone counsel capacity
- Experience handling multi-jurisdictional legal matters across APAC
