We are seeking a highly driven and commercially minded Recovery Lawyer to support our growing recovery and enforcement operations across our lending and asset finance portfolio.

The ideal candidate will combine strong legal knowledge with practical recovery strategy, stakeholder management, litigation coordination, and regulatory compliance capabilities. The role requires a proactive professional who can manage recovery matters from pre-litigation engagement through enforcement and dispute resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage loan recovery and debt enforcement matters
  • Draft and review demand notices, recovery correspondence, settlement agreements, and legal documentation
  • Coordinate external solicitors, recovery agents, and law enforcement engagements where required
  • Support repossession and asset recovery processes
  • Monitor litigation and recovery matters and provide regular status reports
  • Engage borrowers and counterparties on negotiated settlement arrangements
  • Ensure recovery activities comply with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies
  • Support recovery strategy development and portfolio risk mitigation initiatives
  • Maintain accurate recovery records and case tracking systems.

Requirements

  • LL.B and BL qualification
  • Minimum of 3–7 years post-call experience
  • Experience in debt recovery, litigation, banking, finance, asset finance, or commercial dispute resolution
  • Strong understanding of recovery processes, enforcement procedures, and legal documentation
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
  • Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with financial institutions or fintechs is an added advantage.
