Role Description The Real Estate Paralegal will provide support to attorneys on real estate transactions and related matters in a full-time, on-site role based in Kingston. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and reviewing legal documents, assisting with property transfers, coordinating title searches, and maintaining accurate transaction files. The role involves communicating with clients, real estate agents, financial institutions, and government offices to gather information, resolve issues, and ensure timely completion of documentation. The paralegal will also help track key dates, manage checklists, and support attorneys during closings and other transactional milestones. Regular tasks include updating case management systems, organizing records, and ensuring compliance with firm procedures and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in legal document preparation related to real estate transactions.
  • Ability to perform thorough due diligence, including review of property records and related documentation.
  • Knowledge of title insurance processes and requirements.
  • Experience working with leases, including drafting, reviewing, and organizing lease agreements.
  • Familiarity with commercial real estate matters and transaction workflows.
  • Certificate, diploma, or degree in Paralegal Studies, Law, or a related field.
  • Previous experience as a real estate paralegal or in a property law environment is highly beneficial.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple files simultaneously.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and professional client service orientation.
  • Proficiency with office productivity software and legal or case management systems.
