This is a high‑level, transactional position supporting sophisticated commercial real estate matters. The team is known for long‑standing client relationships, hands‑on partner involvement, and a collaborative paralegal group that plays a meaningful role in deals from contract through closing.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing title and survey diligence from contract through closing, including coordination with title companies and surveyors
- Reviewing, summarizing, and analyzing title commitments, recorded documents, UCC searches, lien searches, and public registry filings
- Preparing title objection letters, responses, and resolution materials and working with title agents and underwriters to satisfy title requirements for owner and lender policies
- Reviewing and analyzing ALTA and boundary surveys and plotting legal descriptions for closure
- Reviewing purchase and sale agreements, preparing closing checklists, and tracking key contract dates
- Drafting and revising a wide range of real estate and financing documents, including deeds, UCC filings and terminations, easements, affidavits, estoppels, lease amendments, resolutions, certificates, bills of sale, and settlement statements
- Coordinating executions, closings, and post‑closing logistics, including preparation of closing binders
- Supporting attorneys on acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and corporate transactions
- Serving as a key point of contact with clients, lenders, in‑house counsel, title and escrow companies, opposing counsel, brokers, surveyors, and project teams
The Ideal Background
- Mid/Senior‑level experience as a transactional real estate paralegal (law firm environment)
- Strong hands‑on experience with title, survey, UCC, and lien matters
- Comfort drafting and managing transactional and closing documents independently
- Experience recording documents both electronically and in person with public registries
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple deals at once
- Professional, confident communicator who works well with attorneys and external parties
Schedule & Work Environment
- Core hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (ET), Monday–Friday
- Overtime is not typical and paid when required
- Collaborative, boutique firm environment with high standards and long‑term client relationships
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $115,000–$140,000 (non‑exempt, overtime‑eligible)
