We are working with a Fortune 500 Company who has a need for a real estate attorney with broad based experience including leasing and negotiation of purchase & sale agreements
Provides legal counsel and strategic support across the Company’s real estate operations, transactions, disputes, and related matters. Serves as a trusted business partner to the Real Estate Department, field operations, M&A team, and other stakeholders, providing practical legal guidance across a broad range of real estate and business issues while proactively identifying and mitigating legal and operational risk.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of real estate agreements and documents, including commercial leases, lease amendments, estoppels, purchase and sale agreements, easements, SNDAs, demand letters, and related documentation.
- Provide day-to-day legal counsel and strategic guidance to the Real Estate Department and field operations on real estate matters.
- Coordinate real estate legal due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions in partnership with the Company’s M&A team and outside counsel.
- Lead or oversee title and survey review and coordinate the identification and resolution of title, survey, and other property-related issues arising in connection with acquisitions, dispositions, leasing transactions, and other real estate activities.
- Manage landlord-tenant disputes, property rights matters, and other real estate-related controversies, including developing resolution strategies and directing outside counsel as appropriate.
- Provide legal guidance on land use, zoning, permitting, entitlements, and related matters associated with facility development, expansion, redevelopment, and ongoing operations.
- Select, engage, and manage outside counsel to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and efficient legal representation.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Excellent academic record.
- Active license and membership in good standing with at least one state bar.
- 4+ years of relevant legal experience, with significant transactional real estate experience required, including leasing, and drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial real estate.
- Experience managing real estate due diligence, title and survey matters, and landlord-tenant or other real estate disputes.
- A combination of law firm and in-house legal experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate across functions in a fast-paced business environment.
