Role Description The Real Estate Lawyer will work full time on-site in Barcelona, providing legal support across all stages of real estate investment and asset management. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating purchase agreements, lease contracts, development agreements, and financing documentation for residential and hospitality assets. The role involves conducting legal due diligence on properties, assessing title, zoning, planning, and regulatory risks, and advising the investment team on transaction structures. The Real Estate Lawyer will coordinate with external counsel and notaries, manage closing processes, and ensure compliance with Spanish and EU real estate, corporate, and fund regulations. The position also requires preparing legal reports and memos for internal stakeholders and investors, supporting dispute resolution when necessary, and contributing to the continuous improvement of internal legal processes and templates.

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in Spanish real estate law, including experience with residential and hospitality assets, property transactions, leasing, and development.
  • Solid background in corporate and contract law, with demonstrated ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements in English and Spanish.
  • Experience in real estate investment or private equity environments, including legal due diligence, transaction structuring, and coordination with external advisors.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to alternative investment funds and cross-border transactions, ideally including CSSF or similar oversight.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to present clear, concise legal advice to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and collaboration capabilities, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and handle multiple transactions simultaneously.
  • Law degree (LLB or equivalent) and admission to practice in Spain; an advanced degree in real estate, finance, or business is a plus.
  • Professional proficiency in English and Spanish; additional European languages are an advantage.
  • Previous experience in a reputable law firm or in-house legal department focusing on real estate, investment funds, or financial services is highly beneficial.
