About Company / Opportunity:
We are a well-established organization with a national retail footprint. This role sits on a collaborative in-house legal team supporting a high-volume portfolio of retail locations across the U.S. The position offers significant exposure to complex leasing and transactional matters, along with the opportunity to partner closely with real estate, construction, and executive stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a high volume of retail real estate documents
- Support acquisitions, dispositions, and financing transactions
- Partner cross-functionally with real estate, construction, finance, and operations teams
- Provide legal guidance on leasing and transactional matters
- Assist in developing and maintaining leasing templates, standards, and playbooks
- Conduct real estate due diligence
- Coordinate with outside counsel as needed
Must-Have Skills:
- J.D. and active bar license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (Texas preferred or ability to waive in)
- 5+ years of commercial real estate legal experience
- Experience managing high-volume transactions
- Experience drafting and negotiating complex lease agreements
Nice to Have Skills:
- Retail leasing experience
- Familiarity with lease management systems
- Exposure to construction-related legal matters
- Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments
