We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Commercial Real Estate Transactional Attorney to join our prestigious legal team in-house. Reporting directly to the EVP and General Counsel, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to high-level transactional activities within the commercial real estate sector. As a key member of our legal department, the VP of Legal Transactions will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our business strategy, focusing on the acquisition and disposition of open-air shopping centers and handling a variety of complex real estate matters.

Key Responsibilities
Proactively manage and execute sophisticated real estate acquisitions and dispositions on a “first-chair” basis.
Address and resolve condemnation actions, title matters, easements, rights of way, environmental issues, subdivisions, REAs, and restrictive covenant matters.
Negotiate and draft transactional documents with precision, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
Provide expert legal counsel and support to various departments within the company.
Maintain a collaborative relationship with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives, legal peers, and external counsel.
Qualifications and Experience
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a leading law school with a proven record of academic excellence.
A minimum of 5 years of transactional and commercial real estate experience with a reputable law firm and/or in-house legal team.
Retail and shopping center experience is required.
Demonstrated ability to independently manage and close complex real estate transactions.
Leadership and management experience preferred, with a focus on fostering team development and collaboration.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with colleagues at all levels.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, with a proven track record of managing high-pressure situations and diverse workloads.
