Overview
We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Attorney to join our in-house legal team at a commercial real estate company. This role focuses on drafting, negotiating, and managing commercial real estate transactions, with an emphasis on retail and office leasing.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial leases, amendments, renewals, SNDAs, estoppels, and related agreements.
- Support acquisitions, dispositions, and financings through document review, due diligence, and closings while managing deal checklists, timelines, and closing deliverables in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Review leases, title reports, surveys, loan documents, and other legal agreements to identify risks and provide practical business solutions.
- Partner with asset management, acquisitions, and property management teams to support portfolio operations.
- Coordinate with outside counsel, lenders, brokers, title companies, and other transaction parties.
- Manage multiple transactions simultaneously while meeting deadlines and keeping stakeholders informed.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in New York (or ability to waive in).
- 5+ years of commercial real estate law experience in a law firm or in-house setting.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills, particularly with commercial leases.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with retail, mixed-use, or shopping center leasing.
- Experience working with owner/operators or commercial real estate developers.
- Ability to balance legal risk with practical business objectives.
Compensation: Competitive base salary starting at $125,000, commensurate with experience.
Pay: From $125,000.00 per year
