JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Immigration Paralegal will provide support to a team of Immigration Attorneys.
Responsibilities:
Managing the caseload from intake through processing and filing
Preparing asylum applications and forms for permanent residency and secondary benefits for foreign nationals
Processing and filing nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions
Organizing petition packets for review and filing
Gathering application and petition information from external parties
Keeping clients apprised of the progress of their cases
Maintaining digital files and entering data into an immigration case management system
Responding to immigration inquiries in a timely manner and adhering to submission deadlines
REQUIREMENTS:
2+ years of experience as immigration paralegal in private practice
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience in preparing petition packages for review and filling.
Understanding of legal language and principles
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment
Proficient with case management software
