McBride Homes has an exciting opportunity for a Real Estate Associate Counsel to join our legal team. McBride is Missouri’s largest home builder and one of the largest land developers in the state. With 1008 closings in 2024, McBride ranks as the 33rd largest privately owned builder and the 66th largest builder in the country according to Builder Magazine. We are seeking a talented Real Estate Associate Counsel to be a part of a collaborative team, located in our new state-of-the-art facility in Chesterfield Valley.

Salary Range

: $175,000- $210,000/yr. depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

Assist on legal matters, with an emphasis on land acquisition

Manage zoning entitlement including analysis of zoning codes and presenting projects at zoning meetings throughout the greater St. Louis Metropolitan Area

Provide legal advice related to land acquisition and development

Draft and negotiate land acquisition contracts and related documents

Work with our in-house land development team and legal team to analyze due diligence and close land acquisition projects including detailed analysis of title and survey issues and drafting easements and other title related resolution documents

Managing litigation matters including consulting with and coordinating outside counsel as necessary

Review and revise subcontractor contract documents and handle disputes

Provide advice regarding legal issues in construction and warranty

Report directly to General Counsel

Qualifications

Must be capable of managing and tracking high volume caseload with many priorities and deadlines

Excellent negotiation and drafting skills

Exceptional written communication and oral presentation skills

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail

Ability to analyze and solve complex title and survey issues

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Must be licensed and able to practice law in Missouri

A law degree from an ABA accredited law school

Minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate law
