Quality Assurance Coordinator Jobs in Plantation, FL at U.S. Legal Support
Reporting to the City Manager, the Deputy City Manager (DCM) will be responsible for a wide variety of projects and strategic initiatives that support City Council, City Manager and the community’s priorities and the City’s annual work plan. The DCM’s primary responsibilities will be on external services and strategic initiatives. As part of the executive team, and in the absence of the City Manager, the DCM will add to his/her primary responsibilities, all City administration. In addition, the DCM provides administrative guidance to assigned departments, assists with their budget development and administration, monitors, and coordinates City programs and assists in the creation, implementation, and presentation of long- and short-range strategic plans to meet the organizational and growing needs of the City.

Appropriate business casual attire for office personnel and proper uniform attire for those departments that are so designated (Police, Fire, and Public Works Departments).
Assist with development and implementation of long- and short-range strategic plans and initiatives through solicited input from City Council, City Manager, community organizations, private citizens, department heads and other officials.
Lead operational departments and functional components within the City’s overarching goals and objectives.
Consult and advise department directors in solving administrative problems; including developing and implementing changes within the organization and/or procedures to meet City goals.
Review applicable Federal, State and City laws, ordinances, and regulations for compliance; make recommendations to appropriate departments where non-compliance issues may arise; develop and implement new ordinances and regulations to enhance, update, modify or clarify existing ordinances.
Assist in developing and coordinating City affairs with Federal, State, and local entities, Federal and State agencies, and civic and private groups and citizens.
Administration Liaison to assigned Board and Commissions
Conduct annual performance evaluations for assigned direct reports.
Monitor department personnel actions.
Assist with preparing and accepting items for inclusion in the official agenda for all City Council meetings. Receive staff input on all appropriate matters being considered by City Council.
Develop and present policy proposals after consultation with department directors, and any applicable private and governmental entities.
Assist with preparing recommendations to City Council related to annual operating expenditures, capital and other budgets as assigned.
Promote City programs, activities, services, and business opportunities to increase economic development opportunities.
Interact with Council Members regarding City issues, programs and special projects.
Respond to and resolve a wide range of citizen inquiries and concerns through a prompt and thorough resolution process.
Communicate effectively throughout assigned departments of the organization; up, down, and laterally. Demonstrate and promote a culture of effective communication throughout all levels of the organization as well as throughout the community.
Provide training and development opportunities for assigned city staff through attendance at seminars and conferences.
Travel to attend meetings, conferences, and training.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
