About the Role
We are looking for a motivated law graduate to join our Chambers for pupillage/chambering. This is an opportunity to receive hands-on training under experienced legal practitioners, build a strong foundation in legal practice, and work toward admission to the Malaysian Bar. Success in this role looks like steady growth in legal research, drafting, and client-facing skills, along with the professionalism and work ethic expected of a future member of the Bar. Pupils will work closely with partners and associates across various practice areas, contributing directly to the firm’s caseload while being mentored toward independent legal practice.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and prepare case summaries, memoranda, and legal opinions under the supervision of a Master
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, letters, and submissions
- Liaise professionally with clients, personnel and other stakeholders
- Manage and organize files, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of documentation
- Support due diligence exercises and compliance-related tasks as required
- Continuously develop legal knowledge and practical skills across relevant areas of law
Qualifications
- Recognized university degree in Law (LLB or equivalent, recognized by the Malaysian Bar/Legal Profession Qualifying Board)
- Second Class Upper or First Class Honours, with a minimum CGPA of 3.4
- Excellent command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken
- Proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage
- Strong research, analytical, and drafting skills
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail
- Eligible to be registered as a pupil-in-chambers with the Malaysian Bar
