The Public Finance Paralegal provides comprehensive legal and administrative support to attorneys in the Public Finance practice group. This role assists with municipal bond transactions and other public finance matters from inception through closing, ensuring accuracy, organization, and compliance with applicable legal requirements. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced law firm environment. The Public Finance team generally works in the office every day, so the Public Finance Paralegal must be able to work in the office at least four days per week.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys with all phases of public finance transactions, including bond issuances, refinancing, and other financing matters.
  • Prepare, proofread, format, and revise legal documents, closing documents, and correspondence
  • Coordinate due diligence by gathering, organizing, and reviewing transaction-related documents.
  • Maintain and organize electronic and physical transaction files.
  • Prepare signature packets and coordinate execution of closing documents with clients, other counsel, underwriters, financial advisors, trustees, and other transaction participants.
  • Track transaction timelines, key milestones, and critical deadlines to ensure timely completion of financing transactions and maintain annual summary of all transactions for reporting and business development purposes.
  • Coordinate closing logistics, including scheduling calls, meetings, and document execution.
  • Assist with preparing and filing required documents with governmental agencies and regulatory entities, as applicable.
  • Conduct legal and factual research related to public finance matters.
  • Prepare closing binders and distribute final executed documents to all parties following transaction completion.
  • Maintain attorney calendars related to transaction deadlines and closings.
  • Coordinate publication of public hearing notices in applicable newspapers and/or on applicable websites.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, governmental entities, financial institutions, and outside counsel.
  • Assist with billing support, expense reporting, and matter management as requested.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree or ABA approved paralegal certification required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ professional work experience required, with a strong preference given to candidates with general corporate legal experience.
  • Experience supporting bond transactions or complex corporate transactions is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of legal documentation and transactional processes preferred.
  • Ability to meet the client-service standards of Distinctively Robinson Bradshaw with both internal and external clients.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with document management systems (iManage or similar).
  • Strong familiarity with PDF editing software such as Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with legal billing and time-entry software is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Initiative and accountability.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
