Job Overview
The Bailiff plays a crucial role in maintaining order and security within the courtroom environment. This position requires a professional who is attentive, disciplined, and capable of managing various situations that may arise during court proceedings. The Bailiff is responsible for ensuring the safety of all participants in the courtroom, including judges, jurors, witnesses, and the public. This role also involves assisting with the enforcement of court orders and providing support to legal personnel.
Duties
The Bailiff is responsible for assisting Judges, Jurors, and other parties as needed during courtroom proceedings..
Ensures proper behavior in the courtroom for all proceedings and provides customer service.
Sets up and takes care of the courtroom during proceedings.
Swears in witnesses and proper parties.
Maintains juror time records, takes roll-call and ensures jurors are seated properly.
Coordinates with law enforcement agencies on the transportation of inmates to and from the courthouse and /or courtroom.
Announces Judge’s entrance into and departure from the courtroom.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: One (1) year of experience in security, law enforcement or legal setting

Pay: $15.00 – $26.69 per hour
