About the Position
The focus of this role is criminal and civil matters related to substance abuse. The work environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and supportive, with an emphasis on teamwork and trauma-informed advocacy. Attorneys in this position appear in court daily, working closely with mental health professionals and other stakeholders to provide ethical and compassionate representation.

Key Requirements
Some experience as a prosecutor, public defender, or attorney for a social services agency is preferred, but recent graduates will also be considered.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

A strong work ethic and a good sense of humor are valued.
Out-of-state attorneys are encouraged to apply, provided they are eligible for Kansas licensure within a reasonable time frame.
Compensation and Benefits
Competitive salary in the $90,000–$110,000 range, with flexibility to offer more for the right candidate.
Relocation assistance is negotiable.
About the Opportunity
This position offers a unique opportunity to work on criminal defense and specialty dockets related to treatment courts and the opioid crisis. The firm handles approximately 1,200 cases annually, including criminal defense, family law, employment law, professional licensure complaints, and public interest litigation. Growth areas include dispute resolution and civil rights plaintiff work.
