Job Title: Project Risk Manager
Department: Project Risk
Role Purpose: The Project Risk Manager is responsible for identifying, assessing, and monitoring project-related risks throughout their lifecycle to ensure effective risk mitigation and successful project delivery. The role supports the development and implementation of project risk management frameworks, conducts quantitative and qualitative analyses, and prepares reports for management decision-making. This position works closely with project managers and cross-functional teams to embed risk awareness and enhance project governance.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Identify potential risks and their sources by studying project context and elements (financial, operational, technical, legal).
- Analyze risks qualitatively and quantitatively and evaluate their impacts.
- Collaborate with project teams to gather information and understand existing controls.
- Develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with project managers for timely risk response and escalation.
- Recommend improvements to mitigation plans based on effectiveness reviews.
- Track and monitor risks, indicators, and mitigation actions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Update the risk register regularly.
- Communicate emerging risks to stakeholders.
- Prepare accurate risk reports and consolidate information for a holistic view.
- Provide insights to support decision-making.
- Deliver risk awareness training and workshops.
- Ensure transparency and clarity in reporting and maintain comprehensive documentation.
- Enhance project risk management practices and systems.
- Develop project risk management plans with project managers.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Support digital transformation by deploying digital tools for risk management.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related field.
- Professional certification like CQRM, PMI-RMP is a plus.
- Proficiency in risk management software, MS Project, Excel, and other data analysis tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and mitigate project risks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills for internal and external reporting.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and make decisions in dynamic project environments.
