Miller, George & Suggs, PLLC is looking to hire a Texas litigation attorney to handle contested mortgage default matters throughout the State of Texas. The position will be in our Plano, Texas office.
Duties:
Handling defensive litigation matters through trial involving alleged violations of state and federal statutes and regulations.
Obtaining judicial foreclosure judgments in both state and federal courts.
Resolving mortgage defaults involving deceased borrowers in state district courts and probate courts.
Handling contested eviction matters including eviction appeals in state courts.
Collaborating with the firm’s other attorneys and the firm’s clients to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws.
Desired Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate will have experience handling mortgage default matters specifically; however, newly licensed attorneys with strong academic backgrounds will also be considered.
Licensed to practice law in Texas state courts.
Some courtroom experience preferred.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Ability to handle a caseload with minimal supervision.
Willingness to ask questions when needed.
Experience with CaseAware case management system.
Experience working in client portals including BKFS/LPS and Tempo.
