About the role
The Legal and Compliance Manager – HVAC, HR & Finance at AIRO Mechanical is responsible for managing the company’s legal and regulatory compliance functions as they relate to the HVAC business unit, Human Resources, and Finance. This role ensures company-wide adherence to contract standards, licensing, employment compliance, and risk management policies. The position also oversees company claims, coordinates with regulatory bodies, and manages licensing processes across multiple jurisdictions.
What you’ll do
Contract Management & Compliance:
Oversee contract review, negotiation, and redlining related to HVAC projects and vendor relationships.
Manage Letters of Intent (LOIs) and coordinate execution for HVAC-related agreements.
Support HR with employment agreement templates, licensing clauses, and labor compliance.
Ensure post-execution contract support for HVAC and employment-related agreements.
Regulatory, Licensing & Claims Oversight:
Own the full suite of company-wide licensing processes and state/local regulatory board coordination.
Manage the claims process, including documentation, resolution tracking, and risk follow-up.
Monitor regulatory changes and advise leadership on updates that affect HVAC, HR, or Finance.
Support subcontractor prequalification, including licensing validation and insurance review.
Legal Operations & Documentation:
Maintain legal file systems, including Procore or similar platforms, for contract and licensing documents.
Serve as primary legal contact for HVAC project teams, and operations staff.
Assist the Finance team in reviewing contracts for insurance, liability, and financial risk terms.
Strategic Legal Support & Collaboration:
Partner with department leaders to align legal processes with operational priorities.
Implement document control policies and legal best practices across HVAC and HR workflows.
Support internal training efforts on contract and employment compliance topics.
Qualifications
Education: 4-year college degree required; Paralegal Certification preferred
Experience: 2–5+ years in a legal, construction, or compliance role
Skills:
Strong contract negotiation and documentation skills
Familiarity with construction licensing, claims processes, and regulatory filings
Proficiency with Procore, Salesforce, or other contract management systems
Ability to clearly communicate legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
J.D. from an accredited law school; active bar admission in a relevant U.S. state
Knowledge of construction industry regulations, lien law, and technology contracts
