Position: Practice Counsel – Capital Markets/M&A (8+ years)
Our client, a highly regarded Bay Street law firm, is looking to add a Practice Counsel to support its M&A and Capital Markets groups in a high-impact and strategic role.
This is an excellent opportunity to add your sophisticated expertise and thought leadership to a collaborative and top-tier team, to shape the knowledge infrastructure of a leading M&A and capital markets practice.
Responsibilities
- Analyzing and sharing market developments and trends
- Developing and maintaining internal resources and precedents
- Collaborating with and acting as a key resource to lawyers on technology-driven solutions and the use of AI
- Providing day-to-day practice subject matter expertise on complex legal issues
- Teaching CLE programs
- Supporting business development initiatives
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of transactional experience in a major Canadian business law firm and/or relevant work experience in-house or with a regulator (stock exchange or securities commission)
- Strong understanding of securities regulations, transactional documents, and market practices
