Take2 is hiring a Policy Strategist who currently holds a minimum of a Secret Clearance. This position is onsite and will require you to work out of Alexandria, VA.
Job Description: Policy Strategist
Position Overview
We are seeking a Policy Strategist to support the development, analysis, and advancement of policy initiatives that align with organizational goals and priorities. The ideal candidate will combine strong research and analytical skills with strategic thinking to evaluate policy issues, engage stakeholders, and develop recommendations that drive effective decision-making.
The Policy Strategist will work closely with leadership, government stakeholders, community partners, and subject matter experts to assess legislative and regulatory developments, identify emerging trends, and develop strategies that support organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, analyze, and monitor legislative, regulatory, and policy developments impacting the organization.
- Develop policy recommendations, strategic plans, briefing materials, white papers, and position statements.
- Evaluate the potential impact of proposed policies, regulations, and legislation.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to support policy initiatives and organizational priorities.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather input and build consensus around policy objectives.
- Identify opportunities and risks associated with policy changes and provide strategic guidance to leadership.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and executive briefings for senior leadership and decision-makers.
- Support advocacy, public affairs, and stakeholder engagement efforts as appropriate.
- Track policy implementation efforts and measure outcomes against established goals.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends, best practices, and emerging policy issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Public Administration, Economics, Government, Law, Communications, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in policy analysis, policy development, government affairs, public affairs, strategic planning, or a related field.
- SharePoint Experience
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience preparing reports, policy briefs, presentations, and executive-level recommendations.
- Ability to interpret complex legislation, regulations, and policy frameworks.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Public Policy (MPP), Public Administration (MPA), Political Science, Law, or a related field.
- Experience working with governmental agencies, nonprofits, trade associations, advocacy organizations, consulting firms, or corporate public policy teams.
- Knowledge of legislative, regulatory, and policymaking processes.
- Experience facilitating stakeholder meetings, coalitions, or working groups.
- Data analysis and program evaluation experience.
