Position: Litigation Paralegal
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Full Time: Yes (Hybrid Schedule, 2-3 days in the office)
Salary range: $100,000-$120,000 + Full Benefits (Depending on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and organize client documents, including electronic data, ensuring relevant materials are identified and properly handled for each case.
Conduct thorough background investigations, including litigation, criminal, and civil checks, and obtain authenticated records when necessary.
Draft legal documents for attorney review, such as removal papers, certificates of interested parties, answers, initial disclosures, motions, court orders, scheduling and protective orders, deposition notices, affidavits, declarations, discovery requests and responses, settlement agreements, and dismissal filings.
Support the preparation of motions for summary judgment by verifying deposition citations, assembling exhibits, and compiling appendices.
Prepare and manage document productions with accuracy, including applying bates labels and redacting sensitive or privileged information.
Provide trial preparation assistance, including organizing exhibits and evidence, preparing witness lists, managing subpoenas, and attending witness preparation sessions. Offer support during trials as needed.
Conduct online legal research and efficiently utilize the firm’s electronic resources to support case preparation.
Manage multiple assignments and deadlines effectively, maintaining professionalism and proactively seeking support when necessary.
Collaborate with team members and offer assistance to ensure smooth workflow and case progression.
Review and verify vendor invoices for accuracy and submit them promptly to the office manager for processing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of litigation paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures and court processes at the federal and state levels.
Proficient in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and electronic filing systems (e.g., PACER, state court systems).
Skilled in document management, including electronic discovery (eDiscovery) and database organization.
Experience drafting and reviewing legal documents, including motions, subpoenas, discovery requests/responses, and settlement agreements.
Proficient with litigation support software (e.g., Relativity, CaseMap, Concordance) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting legal documents and interacting with attorneys, clients, and court personnel.
Detail-oriented with the ability to identify discrepancies and ensure document accuracy.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
