Overview

Plaintiff’s Paralegal/Legal Secretary Jobs in Englishtown, NJ at Shapiro & Sternlieb

Are you an overachiever that just completed law school and now are looking to choose the right career path?

Taking a job that is too easy means you will forever be struggling to earn a living in a practice area over saturated with mediocre attorneys. Or worse yet, having your position replaced next year by AI.

Conversely, choosing a more challenging practice area requires unprecedented dedication and hard work along with experience that you just don’t have.

Having applied endlessly to job after job, you have probably realized that nobody wants to give you a chance.

Well, “ONE” lucky person will get a chance to learn and grow some one of the most complex and challenging areas of law. Information Technology, Data Privacy and Security including AI with a strong emphasis on Healthcare.

Work will include:

Review, revise, draft, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including in the areas of healthcare, information technology, and data privacy and security.
Draft contract provisions to the specific transaction and client’s unique needs.
Monitor developments in federal and state healthcare (Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark, physician fee splitting) and privacy and security laws (HIPAA, NIST, state data breach notification laws) and provide legal advice to clients.
Review and respond to correspondence from clients, opposing counsel, and regulators.

Of course, it may take a couple more years of long hours, studying, learning and understanding IT, Healthcare and business.

But, if you enjoy a challenge, won’t crack under pressure and can solve problems with one hand tied behind your back, we want you! We need you!

if your work is “good enough” and you were not completely disturbed by this sentence starting with a lower case I, there is no reason for you to apply.

This will be a one on one mentoring opportunity with an accomplished attorney with almost 2 decades of practical experience.

You will start with a base salary of $60,000 along with comprehensive medical and dental benefits, paid time off and a 401K match. With added incentives for meeting a modest number of billable hours weekly, you should realistically earn well in excess of $100,000/year.

As you learn, you will have the opportunity to publish relevant legal articles, plan multimedia presentations for conferences and plan videos for our social media and advertising.

This is an opportunity to contribute both analytically and creatively as we grow our firm and client base. A chance to pave your own way and build a solid career rather than taking one of those positions that are already being replaced by AI.

If you are interested in this opportunity, we have a lot of questions for you. Consider these questions your first interview. We review each and every application, so be precise and clear with your answers.
