Our law firm located in west Austin is seeking an attorney to join our team. Ideal candidates will have at least four (4) years of Texas oil, gas, and energy law experience, with an emphasis on oil and gas title examinations. New Mexico licensure and title experience is a plus. Candidates must be highly motivated to practice oil and gas law. We are an established firm that has served the needs of our clients throughout Texas and other jurisdictions for over 40 years. Our book of business continues to grow. Our group is teamwork-oriented and maintains flexible and family-friendly work schedules. This new hire will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including oil and gas title examination, regulatory and environmental matters, commercial and residential real estate transactions, probate and estate planning, and litigation. The right candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work independently.
Primary Responsibilities
· Examine oil and gas title instruments and prepare drilling, division order, and acquisition title opinions in a timely and efficient manner.
· Advise clients on title issues and curative matters.
Qualifications
· At least 4 years of direct experience in examining oil and gas title instruments and drafting title opinions.
· In-house or field landman experience a plus.
· Strong analytical and communication skills.
· Excellent attention to detail.
· Licensure in Texas (New Mexico licensure a plus).
· Ability to work independently and in team settings.
· Strong work ethic and high level of personal integrity.
