Our firm is seeking an experienced senior attorney who is adept at handling a large caseload and familiar with all aspects of the trial process, particularly drafting pleadings, motions, notices, and working toward a resolution. $200,000+ based on experience + bonus
Responsibilities:
Draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, notices, and discovery requests and responses
Perform research, draft briefs, pleadings, and motions
Strategize, prepare for, and attend trial proceedings, mediation, and arbitration
Maintain knowledge of local, state, and federal statutes and applicable laws
Represent clients in court to argue motions during legal proceedings
Manage a pipeline of approximately 100-120 personal injury cases to ensure cases progress seamlessly from inception to settlement/trial
Litigate cases for maximum settlement amounts
Conduct depositions
Attend mediations, hearings, and trials as needed
Prepare legal documents
Maintain heavy communication with clients, opposing counsel and adjusters
Negotiate settlements as needed, outside of mediation and trial
Meet monthly established goals and metrics
Qualifications:
Applicants must have trial, mediation, and arbitration representation experience
5 years of required experience as a senior associate in the legal field
Admitted to local and state bar associations
Must be able to handle heavy caseload with little supervision
Four-year bachelor’s degree and successful completion of law school from an accredited law school
Must have an active NY bar license in good standing
At least 5+years of experience working as an associate attorney
Excellent customer service skills
Track Record of successful settlements via negotiation, Offers of Settlement, mediation and jury trials
