Duties
- Assist attorneys with all aspects of personal injury cases, including case intake, document review, and file management
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies
- Draft legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings with precision and clarity
- Manage case files electronically using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw, ensuring confidentiality and organization
- Interview clients, witnesses, and experts to gather relevant information for case development
- Coordinate with medical providers, insurance companies, and other parties involved in the injury claims process
- Prepare for depositions, hearings, and trial by organizing evidence and supporting documentation
Skills
- Proven experience as a paralegal in personal injury law or related fields such as civil litigation support or general & commercial litigation
- Strong knowledge of procedural law, legal research techniques, and case management practices
- Proficiency in legal software including PCLaw, iManage, Westlaw, LexisNexis, and document review platforms
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple cases efficiently under tight deadlines
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for client interaction and professional correspondence
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion
- Familiarity with legal drafting, proofreading, and document management systems
- Experience supporting attorneys in preparing for trial or settlement negotiations
- Knowledge of estate planning, environmental law, UCC law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers’ compensation law or other specialized areas is a plus but not required
