We are looking for bilingual staff to join our legal team! If you meet the requirements below then this position may be for you:
Strong customer service skills.
MUST have two (2) years of immigration experience.
Ability to perform network outreach to assist in helping grow the Indiana office.
Marketing skills are a PLUS (Social Media Coordinator).
Highly motivated and energetic attitude.
Will be participating in administrative duties.
MUST BE bilingual in Haitian-Creole & English.
Able to provide a copy of writing samples.
Case Management: Assist in managing asylum case files from the initial intake to completion. Track important deadlines, hearings, and updates for each case.
Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, answering questions, gathering information, and keeping them updated on case progress. Maintain client confidentiality and sensitivity to their situation.
Document Preparation: Assist in drafting, proofreading, and organizing legal documents, including asylum applications (Form I-589), affidavits, supporting evidence, and legal correspondence.
File Maintenance: Organize and maintain physical and digital case files. Ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed and filed with the appropriate agencies.
Legal Research: Conduct research on relevant case law, country conditions, and asylum policies. Provide summarized reports for attorney review.
Translation and Interpretation: If proficient in multiple languages, assist with translating documents and interpreting during client meetings.
Immigration Court Support: Prepare attorneys for hearings by compiling case documents, organizing exhibits, and briefing the attorney on case specifics. Attend hearings as needed for support.
Liaison with Government Agencies: Communicate with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and immigration courts on behalf of the attorney or client.
Intake Process: Help screen potential clients, collect initial information, and schedule consultations with attorneys.
