We are searching for a detail-oriented, organized, and experienced personal injury paralegal to join our legal team. You will prepare briefs, create legal documents such as affidavits, do legal research for trial preparation, and keep case files and other key materials organized and easily available. To draft a factual response to discovery, we need someone with expertise in ordering, evaluating, and summarizing medical documents.

This position will require the flexibility to work and manage both pre-litigation claims and active litigation matters. We are a team-oriented, results-driven firm.

Responsibilities:

Give legal assistance at family settlement meetings and mediation so that disputes can be settled without going to court.

Maintain our case filing systems and other administrative activities.

Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by researching legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, submitting motions, and aiding with client meetings.

Create legal pleadings, communications, and documents such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits with the assistance of a lawyer.

Request, interpret, and summarize medical records to come up with a factual answer to discovery requests.

Qualifications:

3-5 years of legal service experience under an attorney or lawyer required, preferably in a personal injury law firm.

Certification from the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) is highly preferred.

Talented verbal communicator and writer.

Candidates must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies;
Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Candidates should possess high-level organizational skills and time-management skills.

This is a hybrid position. Applicant must be familiar with all aspects of pre-litigation claims including but not limited to property damage, insurance policy limits and related coverage issues, acquiring needed medical records, maintaining client relations, ensuring client adherence with medical treatments, lien negotiations, demand writing, mediation brief writing, electronic filing in both state and federal court. Applicant must be able to be flexible and learn all aspects of the office with both pre-litigation and litigation files simultaneously.

Compensation: $28 – $31 hourly
