Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Personal Injury Defense Associate Attorney to join a reputable mid-sized law firm working directly with a partner in premises liability and personal injury defense. Looking for a candidate with 2-7 years of experience. Billable hours are 1850 a year for bonus eligibility.
This role will be completely remote for day-to-day work with the need to be within commutable distance to Walnut Creek, CA to pickup court filings, if necessary.
Duties
- Manage a caseload of personal injury defense cases from inception through resolution, including pre-trial negotiations, discovery, motions, and trial preparation
- Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case strategies
- Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, settlement agreements, and correspondence
- Negotiate settlements with plaintiffs’ attorneys to achieve favorable outcomes for clients
- Represent clients in court proceedings, depositions, mediations, and hearings with professionalism and confidence
- Collaborate with experts in fields such as medical professionals or accident reconstruction specialists to strengthen case arguments
- Maintain detailed case files and ensure compliance with all procedural requirements and deadlines
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar in good standing
- Proven experience in personal injury law or litigation with a strong understanding of defense strategies

Work Location: Mainly remote with in-person appearances in Walnut Creek
Pay: $150,000.00 – $200,000.00 per year
