The position offers an exciting opportunity to engage in both patent prosecution and litigation, working with cutting-edge technologies in an innovative and collaborative environment. This role is based in Baltimore, MD, with potential for other office locations across the country.
Drafting patent applications and managing the prosecution process, including responding to office actions and other correspondence from the USPTO.
Supporting litigation efforts, including preparing for patent trials and providing technical expertise during patent disputes.
Conducting prior art searches and performing patentability assessments.
Collaborating with attorneys and clients to strategize on patent filings and protections.
Providing counsel on patent strategy, infringement, and related legal issues.
Reviewing and analyzing patents and scientific literature for relevance to client needs.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in patent prosecution and litigation.
Strong IP background with a focus on chemical, pharma, or biotech technologies.
Proven ability to draft and prosecute patent applications effectively.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
A degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a closely related field is required.
Advanced degrees or additional relevant experience in the IP field are highly preferred.
In-depth knowledge of patent laws and regulations.
Expertise in patent application drafting and prosecution.
Strong technical background in chemical, pharma, or biotech fields.
Proficient in patent searching and legal research.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
