dynamic
Patent Prosecution & Litigation Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have a background in electrical engineering or software, combined with strong experience in patent prosecution and litigation. The role offers an
exciting
opportunity to work with advanced technologies, including networking, software, and wireless networks.
Duties
:
Draft and prosecute patent applications related to electrical engineering, software, and telecommunications technologies. Provide legal counsel on intellectual property matters, including patent strategy and portfolio management. Handle patent litigation, including strategy development and client representation. Conduct patentability, infringement, and validity analyses. Represent clients before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Collaborate with internal teams to address complex IP issues.
Requirements: IP experience, including patent prosecution and litigation. Background in electrical engineering, computer science, or similar technical fields. Design engineering experience with chip companies is a plus. Preference for candidates with expertise in networking, software, 3G/4G/5G wireless technologies. 2-6 years of legal experience for both Associate and Patent Agent candidates. Associate candidates must be admitted to the USPTO and licensed to practice law, or eligible for licensure in the state of employment (California bar licensure is a plus).
All candidates must be members of the USPTO. Strong written and oral
communication skills
. Excellent academic credentials and strong organizational and analytical abilities.
Education:
Relevant undergraduate degree (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field). Juris Doctor (JD) required for Associate candidates.
Certifications:
USPTO registration is required for all candidates. State bar licensure required for Associate candidates.
Skills:
Strong analytical and organizational skills. Ability to draft and prosecute patent applications. Familiarity with patent litigation procedures. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a
fast-paced environment
