Patent Attorneys Doing Litigation (PADL)

EIP is looking for a new patent attorney with experience/interest in patent litigation to join our award winning group in London, working on a high-value caseload of litigation matters.

The role wits within our Patent Attorneys Doing Litigation (PADL) team meaning that, uniquely within the patent sector, we can offer a role that forms an integral part of our litigation cases – providing technical expertise to our litigators, portfolio analysis, portfolio testing and drafting and prosecution of patents on behalf of our litigation clients.

Typically work will include work on telecoms litigation matters, with a significant proportion of the work focusing on Standard Essential Patent (SEP) litigation, an area where EIP has earned a reputation as the ‘go-to’ patent experts.

Our innovative combination of patent attorneys alongside our experienced specialist patent litigators provides an invaluable combination of professionals to work with to evaluate the fine detail cases both technically and legally.

Our cross-border team of patent litigators sits in the UK and Germany allowing us to service clients in two of the key European patent litigation jurisdictions.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

You will be a qualified patent attorney and will have demonstrable experience working on patents in telecoms, ideally 3GPP and SEPs. Although experience in telecoms as a trainee or qualified attorney is important, an academic background in telecoms or communications technology is not essential.

This role will suit a candidate who has worked in an patent firm where they have been involved in relevant litigation cases or a candidate who has been exposed to litigation in-house, ideally within the telecoms sector at a manufacturer or network company.
