ASSISTANT
This position will perform a variety of clerical tasks to support the lawyers and paralegals. These tasks include research, scheduling, documentation, legal documents, legal cases, court materials, client interviews, hearing notes and legal document filing.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Greet clients, answer phone calls, complete client intake in a professional manner.
Set up and take down of Conference Rooms for depositions and meetings.
Data entry into firm’s data base(s) for conflict checks and customer relationship management software.
File preparation/organization and assist with document management and e-filing of documents and media.
Assist with the processing of daily incoming and outgoing mail, documents, voicemails, and share files.
Prepare basic documents including correspondence, emails and pleadings including to/from clients, attorneys, and other third parties.
Assist paralegal with processing of records/documents. Specifically, e- filing and service and preparation of proofs of service; bate-stamping and redacting of documents; Inventorying documents.
Assist with trial preparation (creating trial binders, making copies, etc.)
Manage and maintain attorney calendars including setting appointments, assisting in preparing for appointments/appearances and confirming appointments.
Shred and breakdown materials from trial/hearings.
Scanning, copying, organizing/titling and saving of documents.
Assist with document retrieval and drop off for attorneys and staff.
Support attorneys and paralegals as needed.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 2 years’ Family law firm experience (preferred).
Experience in operating standard office equipment such as a computer, photocopier, postage machine, and scanner.
Proficient in Microsoft 365 (specifically, MS Word, MS Excel & Outlook).
Proficient Adobe Pro.
Must be a self-starter who is well organized and can handle multiple tasks with the ability to prioritize work.
Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
Must be reliable and responsible.
Must be flexible and open-minded.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work in fast paced environment while paying close attention to detail.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour
