Our Juvenile team is seeking a Court Specialist IV to assist at the front counter and process court documents relating to Delinquency and Juvenile Dependency cases.
Part-time hours: 20 hours per week.
What is Juvenile Delinquency?Any person under the age of 18 who has allegedly committed a law violation. The Juvenile Division is governed by F.S. 985 for Delinquency.
What is Juvenile Dependency? All matters relating to any person under the age of 18 who has been abandoned, abused, neglected, surrendered for the purpose of adoption, who are persistent runaways, habitually truant or are ungovernable. The Juvenile Division is governed by F.S. 39 and F.S. 984 for Dependency.
Examples of Essential Functions
Handles email inquiries from the public.
Maintains the Juvenile Court Calendar and/or scheduling of hearings and e-filing queue.
Performs data entry and create/process new cases.
Assists customers at the front counter or over the phone.
Receipt case related fees and costs.
Performs related duties as directed.
Typical Qualifications
High school diploma (or GED) supplemented by five (5) years of recent and relevant experience that demonstrates the ability to accurately apply acute attention to detail in maintenance of detailed data preferably in an automated systems environment; or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. Some vocational or college courses preferred. Once qualified deputization may be required to perform the assigned functions.
