Paralegal – Personal Injury and Family Law Jobs in New Haven, CT at Confidential
An established, small, New Haven law firm concentrating primarily in personal injury and family law is seeking a motivated and highly organized paralegal to join its team. The ideal candidate will be proactive, capable of working independently when necessary, and comfortable adapting to changing priorities in a busy, dynamic environment. The position requires sound judgment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with family law and personal injury matters from intake through resolution
- Draft correspondence, pleadings, motions, discovery, financial affidavits, subpoenas, and other legal documents
- Maintain case files, calendars, court dates, deadlines, medical records, financial documents, and discovery materials
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, medical providers, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel
- Assist with demand packages, settlement documentation, hearings, mediations, depositions, and trial preparation
- Handle confidential and sensitive client information with discretion
Qualifications:
Prior paralegal or comparable legal experience is required. Exceptions may be considered for recent law school graduates or current law school students who can demonstrate the judgment, writing ability, organization, and initiative necessary to perform the position successfully. Experience in Connecticut personal injury, family law, or civil litigation is strongly preferred. Qualified candidates should submit a résumé and brief cover letter describing their relevant experience.
Pay: $50,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
