Pandemic Legal is a non-profit law firm that provides free and reduced-cost legal services to Americans affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Our practice primarily assists long COVID patients with applications and appeals for disability insurance benefits and employment law matters.
We are seeking a part-time Paralegal to assist with day-to-day operations of the firm. This is a remote position with flexible hours. The Paralegal is expected to work an average of 20 hours per week and will earn $30/hour.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of firm attorneys, the paralegal will:
Maintain client files
Manage deadlines
Manage and organize documents
Gather information from clients and expert witnesses
Conduct legal research
Prepare legal documents
The paralegal will also assist attorneys with various tasks, as needed.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate:
At least 3 years of experience working as a paralegal in a law firm
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly organized
Experience using Clio
Experience supporting attorneys engaged in active litigation
Familiarity with disability insurance and employment law
