Reporting to AVP, Title Production, this position is responsible for performing thorough examinations of land records, assessment records, and tax certificates to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the title products. This identifies and assists in the resolution of title deficiencies to support the issuance of title commitments that meet marketability standards.

This role prepares documents, inputs data and closely collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to resolve title issues promptly. Additionally, this position actively communicates with closers and clients to address outstanding title items, ensuring timely and compliant transactions.

What you will do for TC&E:

Conduct thorough title searches to identify any issues or encumbrances on real property titles, including liens, claims, or discrepancies
Review and analyze legal documents and title products, such as deeds, mortgages, judgements and liens to ensure accuracy and determine requirements needed for insurability purposes
Prepare and maintain title reports, highlighting any issues that may affect the transfer of property
Review the current pipeline on a daily basis to monitor progress and prioritize tasks
Submit initial title products to clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulatory requirements, including local, state and federal guidelines
Initiate the title curative process and resolve identified title issues
Obtain and submit required closing documentation, including Quit Claim Deeds into VITNO, lien releases, and payoffs for remaining title items
Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries, requests, and communications regarding assigned files
Track the progress of the title curative process to ensure timely resolution and completion of outstanding title tasks
Complete assigned tasks efficiently, document progress, and update file notes to ensure all documentation is properly filed and stored in compliance with company policies
Develop domain knowledge of Fay’s business to include an understanding of organizational objectives and compliance with Fay’s policies, processes, and practices
Successfully complete all department and company-required training
Model Fay’s Values, Operating Principles, ethical standards, professionalism and code of conduct
Demonstrate behaviors that align with Fay’s Values and Operating Principles
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

What you will bring to TC&E:

High school diploma or GED Required
1+ years’ experience in title research, title examination, or a related field
Ability to interpret title commitments across various jurisdictions
Knowledge of the title curative process for resolving outstanding title issues
Familiarity with title documents, including deeds, mortgages, liens, judgments, assignments, powers of attorney, and affidavits
Basic understanding of foreclosure processes, including short sales, deeds in lieu, and judicial and non-judicial foreclosures
Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute with high accuracy
Prior experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment preferred
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel Word, and PowerPoint)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Solid interpersonal skills
Demonstrated analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
Good judgment with the ability to evaluate and make decisions
Strong time management skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
