Responsibilities

You will provide technical and paralegal services for attorneys assigned to the Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC).

You will provide legal support including drafting legal documents, preparing correspondence, updating calendars, and communicating with parties on the progress of cases.

You will ensure documents are filed and maintained in an organized filing system.

You will assist with the preparation of case status reports and assist in managing case flow.

You will document executed tasks, phone calls, and other activities in the Agency’s case management system.

You will perform other duties such as contacting witnesses, scheduling and coordinating hearings, coordinating subpoena services, copying and organizing documents and exhibits, and closing cases.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma and experience in providing administrative support for an attorney(s) or a legal office.

Preferred Qualifications

A paralegal degree and/or certificate.

Knowledge of personal computers and word processing.

Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying policies and procedures.

Knowledge of applicable terminology/research practices and relevant laws and regulations.

Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize tasks.

Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with the public and co-workers orally and in writing.

Other Requirements

Position works in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and standing.

May require occasional work outside of normal office hours.

May be required to lift, carry, move and/or position objects weighing up to 25 lbs.

Daily filing, data entry, telephone and computer use.
