We are searching for a Paralegal Manager to support legal operations for a premier alternative investment firm headquartered in Boston with a strong global footprint and a reputation for developing and promoting talent. Why this role / why now

This is a newly combined paralegal function that brings together legal operations under one team. The Paralegal Manager will lead the day-to-day operating – setting quality standards, building consistency, and developing the team – while partnering closely with attorneys and external counsel on work that is central to the firm’s business.

Role overview

Position will oversee several staff paralegals and lead execution and quality control across corporate legal affairs and deal-support/capital markets legal operations. This role serves as the primary reviewer for team deliverables and drives process improvements across the group.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Staff Paralegals; assign workflow, set priorities, and ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Review team work product (entity records, KYC packages, closing sets, filings support, and spend/invoicing processes) and implement consistent standards.
  • Build and maintain SOPs, templates, trackers, and training materials; improve workflows and introduce efficiencies/automation where appropriate.
  • Oversee entity management and corporate recordkeeping; ensure readiness for transactions, financings, audits, and governance needs.
  • Oversee KYC/onboarding workflows and serve as escalation point for complex or time-sensitive requests.
  • Oversee signature processes and closing documentation standards; ensure consistent organization of transaction documents and binders.
  • Own legal ops rhythm for supported teams including intake/triage, stakeholder communications, and service levels.
  • Oversee legal spend governance, budgeting support, and reporting; serve as senior point of contact for law firm billing processes and legal spend tools.
  • Provide oversight for SEC/regulatory filing support workstreams; escalate substantive issues to counsel as needed.
  • Oversee confidentiality agreements, NDAs, and engagement letters; escalate non-standard terms for attorney review.

Ideal candidate profile

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 12+ years of relevant paralegal, legal operations, and/or corporate services experience, including people leadership in a high-volume environment (law firm, investment management, private equity, or comparable).
  • Strong team leadership, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent project management, attention to detail, judgment, and discretion.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills (advanced Excel); comfortable with spend/workflow data.
  • Working knowledge of entity management, KYC, transaction support, and legal spend tools; regulatory filing support is a plus.

Compensation

Highly competitive All in Comp Package of up to around $180-$200k

Break down is around $125 – $150k base + bonus with profit sharing, plus strong benefits.
