Paralegal/Legal Assistant – Workers’ Compensation:

Well-established small, yet busy, Workers’ Comp [Applicant’s] law firm seeking an entry level Paralegal/Legal Assistant.

Requirements:

Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Quick study and fast learner
Bachelor’s degree is required
Excellent client handling and communication skills
Good writing skills
Extremely organized, prompt, and honest
Able to handle the demands of a busy law office
Motivated to help injured workers and a team player
A proven track record of being responsible, professional, and results-oriented
Ability to multitask efficiently, prioritizing responsibilities, and meeting deadlines in a fast peace legal environment

Experience is preferred but not required. We’ll provide training for the right candidate

Responsible for:

Managing a caseload of 150+ cases
Keeping up to date client’s and attorney’s calendar
Communicating case status with the attorney and clients
Carrying out legal research and drafting documents to support case development under attorney’s supervision
Keep clients informed about their case status, and forthcoming steps
Ease the workload for the attorney, managing various administrative and case related tasks such as intakes, orchestrating medical management and discovery, and interpreting
Preparing cases for settlement and trial and making appearances at Board, when necessary
Other duties as assigned
