We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our busy Real Estate Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial real estate transactions, strong document management skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist attorneys with the preparation, review, and revision of real estate transaction documents, including purchase and sale agreements, leases, loan documents, closing binders, and title and survey reviews
Coordinate due diligence processes, including managing checklists, gathering documentation, and communicating with clients and third parties
Draft correspondence, track critical dates, and maintain closing calendars
Assist with preparing and filing documents for commercial real estate closings
Liaise with title companies, surveyors, lenders, and municipal agencies to obtain necessary documentation
Maintain organized and up-to-date electronic and physical case files
Support billing processes and manage attorney time entries as needed
Qualifications
3+ years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in a real estate practice (law firm or in-house legal department)
Strong understanding of real estate transactional processes and documentation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems (e.g., iManage, NetDocuments)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred, but not required
