We are looking for Labor and Employment law Paralegal you will be part of the Litigation Team within the Legal and Compliance Department. You will assist in-house counsel and external counsel in Labor and Employment Agency claims and litigation, including eDiscovery support. The ideal candidate must be a team player who can also work independently, shift focus, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain patience in high-pressure situations.
This position will report to Senior Counsel, Labor and Employment Lawyer with a preferred work location in Iselin, NJ or Alpharetta, GA with partial work-from-home flexibility each week.
Responsibilities:
Assist in interviewing witnesses and drafting responses to EEOC or other agency charges.
Assist in-house counsel in coordination and management of multiple employment litigation matters and subpoena responses.
Create quarterly reports of agency charges and employment litigation
Consult with in-house and external attorneys to determine employment litigation support requirements and eDiscovery needs.
Provide discovery recommendations, plans, time-lines and estimates to the responsible in-house attorney.
Ensure outside counsel handles eDiscovery topics consistent with established processes.
Draft, send and track legal hold notifications; identify and scope custodians; field inquiries regarding handling IT assets related to employees on legal hold.
Plan, schedule and implement electronic and paper collections, including identification and scoping of key data sources for collection.
Work with outside counsel to perform search term iterations for data culling and export.
Coordinate external counsel and third-party eDiscovery hosting and review vendors, setting up new legal matters, and drafting retention agreements.
Maintain accurate and current records of all aspects of projects relating to tracking, specifications, and chain of custody related to employment litigation and agency matters.
Review, select, categorize, organize and maintain documents, including for employment litigation purposes, subpoenas and insurance reporting.
Utilize matter management system for tracking employment litigation, Agency charges, and maintaining case budgets.
Assist in the preparation of answers to interrogatories, responses to other written discovery and document production.
Manage subpoena responses.
Handle scheduling, communications and act as a liaison between in-house attorneys, business colleagues, HR colleagues and outside counsel.
Perform basic legal research and other information searches.
Create reports from matter management and legal hold tools as needed.
Handle various administrative tasks and ad-hoc legal projects.
Provide other support as needed for in-house legal team members.
Basic Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, will consider AA degree with commensurate experience.
At least five years of experience as a labor and employment paralegal
At least three years of litigation support, eDiscovery or as a paralegal involved with case management, legal holds, interviews, document collection, analysis, export and assistance with all stages of discovery.
Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
Paralegal and eDiscovery certification
Willingness to learn; ability to think big-picture and independently identify/propose solutions to roadblocks
3 years matter management and e-billing tools.
Exterro Fusion or similar legal hold tools.
OpenText Axcelerate or similar tools like Relativity.
Knowledge of litigation management.
eDiscovery applications knowledge, discovery processes and technologies, including M365 Purview.
Ability to work well both in a team and independently
Proficient on Word, Excel, Power Point and ability to learn new software as required
Experience with project management, organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to handle difficult or sensitive information in a tactful manner.
Advanced drafting and proofreading skills.
Ability to interact with people at all levels of the corporate structure and prioritize and handle numerous competing demands in a high-volume, fast-paced working environment, frequently under tight deadlines.

The pay range for this position is $64,960 – $122,280. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
