Job Summary:
The Ethics Coordinator assists the Director of Ethics in the coordination of the Ethics Department through research, investigation of facts, preparation of legal documents, and performance of day-to-day administrative tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Communicates with candidates, credential holders, and members of the public, in accordance with established departmental procedures.
Performs day-to-day administrative tasks, such as maintaining information files and ensuring that files are appropriately processed in a timely manner.
Receives submissions and verifies that needed information has been received.
Notes significant matters and information relevant for review using established procedures and makes recommendations to the Director of Ethics.
Reviews information posted on the ethics pages of the NBCC and Affiliates websites; sends recommendations for changes to the Director of Ethics.
Reviews state licensure websites and searches databases to determine if credential holders or applicants are referenced.
Conducts research into state board regulations and law as needed.
Keeps up -to- date technically and applies new knowledge to job:
Follows rules of evidence procedures in a legal setting.
Uses interview procedures.
Maintains knowledge of legal procedural rules.
Demonstrates oral and written communication techniques.
Provides administrative support for the Director of Ethics.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Problem Solving/Analysis – Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to see an issue and use objective analysis and evaluation in order to form a judgment.
Collaboration and Teamwork – Ability to work cooperatively with other individuals and make valued contributions to the outputs of others in order to assist own team or project to achieve the required outputs.
Initiative – Independently develops creative solutions that will improve or enhance products and services, avoid problems, or develop entrepreneurial opportunities. Plans for upcoming problems or opportunities and takes appropriate action.
Communication – Ability to listen to others, process information, and communicate effectively in oral and written formats, including knowledge of the structure and content of the English language.
Technical Knowledge – Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 products. Working knowledge of desktop publishing software.
Required Education/Experience:
Associate degree in paralegal studies
Working knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, and database software
Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, agency rules, and the democratic political process
Knowledge and understanding of state licensing in the professional fields credentialed by NBCC and Affiliates
In-depth knowledge of legal terminology and principles
Excellent writing skills
Preferred Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree preferred

Microsoft 365 products.

Work Location:
Hybrid with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.
