About the Position
We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and client-focused paralegal/case manager to join our growing disability law practice in Atlanta. This position plays a critical role in helping clients navigate the claims and appeals process by serving as their primary point of contact, managing case development, and ensuring timely preparation of filings and supporting documentation.
The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and genuinely enjoys helping people through challenging situations. While prior experience in Veterans Affairs (VA) disability law or Social Security Disability (SSA) law is preferred, we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates strong organizational skills, professionalism, and a commitment to client service.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients throughout the claims and appeals process.
- Review and process incoming correspondence, agency decisions, and other case-related documents.
- Prepare and file new claims, appeals, and other legal documents under attorney supervision.
- Assist clients in completing forms and gathering supporting documentation.
- Draft client questionnaires, correspondence, and other case materials.
- Coordinate requests for medical records and referrals to medical providers or experts for opinions when appropriate.
- Maintain organized electronic case files and update the firm’s case management system.
- Track deadlines and case progress to ensure matters move forward efficiently.
- Communicate professionally with clients, government agencies, medical providers, and third parties.
- Support attorneys with case development and other related tasks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree is a plus but not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
- Professional, dependable, and client-service-oriented attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in Veterans Affairs (VA) disability law or Social Security Disability (SSA) law.
- Experience preparing disability claims, appeals, or other administrative legal filings.
- Experience reviewing and organizing medical records.
- Familiarity with legal case management software.
