SourcePro Search is conducting a search for a motivated Antitrust & Competition Paralegal with a bachelor’s degree—preferably in public policy or a related field—and a minimum of two years of substantive experience as a paralegal. The ideal candidate will have previous law firm experience, strong proficiency with Bluebook, and the flexibility to work overtime as needed, often on short notice.
The ideal candidate will support attorneys who regularly represent corporate clients before the US Department of Justice, Federal Trade Commission, state attorneys general, foreign antitrust enforcement agencies and in antitrust litigation, including complex class actions related to mergers, acquisitions, strategic investments, and joint ventures, as well as alleged monopolization, restraint of trade and unfair and deceptive practices. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
What You’ll Do:
Assist with research, drafting, and project management for antitrust risk assessments, risk mitigation follow-up, and other special projects assigned by practice group
Assist with the collection, preparation, review, and filing of various submissions including:
Hart–Scott–Rodino premerger notification filings and associated attachments;
Narrative Responses to Second Requests;
Court filings, including dispositive motions; and document productions.
Conduct research on current events and ongoing cases; curate results, prepare summaries, and assist with the preparation, editing, and delivery of internal and client alerts
Collaborate with attorneys to develop thought leadership contributions and commentary regarding topics and key issues relevant to current and prospective clients
Develop expertise in use of document review tools (including Relativity) and develop, standardize and manage practice group’s internal knowledge resources, including forms and templates, educational materials, marketing materials and position papers
Manage and track project deadlines, deliverables, and meetings to ensure timely completion of all projects and assist with document and information management needs of the practice group
Organize and maintain document management systems
Assist with drafting communications to internal stakeholders relating to antitrust topics
Identify opportunities for process improvements, develop plans, and manage implementation
Partner with and support compliance, corporate, and litigation practice groups on antitrust issues
Support other departmental initiatives and deliverables as needed, including research, drafting, and review of court filings across the business litigation department
What You’ll Bring:
A bachelor’s degree, preferably in public policy or related field
2+ years of substantive work experience as a paralegal or legal project manager.
Available to work overtime, as required and often on short notice
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
Previous law firm experience
Proficiency with Bluebook
Excellent oral communication and organizational skills
Ability to work well under pressure
Ability to work well with others
Proven ability to take initiative and, as needed, direct projects autonomously
Must be able to manage multiple projects while maintaining high quality and excellent client service
