Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Associate Attorney, specializing in Residential Real Estate, with a focus on Evictions, Code Enforcement and Small Claims. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in these areas of the law. This role requires excellent research and legal drafting skills, as well as the ability to navigate complex legal issues effectively. The Associate Attorney will work closely with clients, providing legal advice and representation while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Candidates must be active members in good standing of the NC and/or SC Bar Associations.
Schedule: Remote, however candidates must be able to reliably commute to client meetings in the NC or SC offices, and to court appearances.
Duties
Conduct thorough legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents to support client cases.
Drafting legal documents.
Court representation.
Provide legal counsel to clients on matters related to evictions, code enforcements and small claims matters.
Assist in the preparation of cases for trial by organizing evidence and preparing exhibits.
Collaborating with senior attorneys on complex cases to develop strategies for client representation.
Maintaining accurate records of case files and client communications in compliance with legal administrative standards.
Utilizing legal research tools to gather pertinent information for ongoing cases.
Skills
Strong knowledge on matters related to evictions, code enforcements and small claims matters.
Active Bar Membership in North Carolina and/or South Carolina.
JD from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 3 years experience with eviction cases, including court representation.
Proficient in legal research methodologies and tools.
Excellent legal drafting skills with the ability to write clearly and persuasively.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for reviewing legal documents.
Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, colleagues, and court personnel.
