A Career-Defining Opportunity for a Driven Litigation Attorney in Tucson, AZ
Are you an ambitious attorney with a passion for making a significant impact in clients’ lives?
Doug Newborn Law Firm is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Litigation Attorney to join our expanding team in Tucson. We are not just looking for someone to fill a seat; we are seeking a top performer who is eager to contribute to our tradition of success and grow with our firm.
About Us:
At Doug Newborn Law Firm, we provide critical legal support to clients navigating complex and emotional life events. Specializing in probate, estate planning, guardianship, and conservatorship, our firm is known for its blend of legal expertise, professionalism, and compassion. We pride ourselves on creating a supportive, family-oriented environment where work-life balance is valued.
The Role:
As a Litigation Attorney, you will play a key role in advocating for our clients and achieving favorable outcomes. You will collaborate with a team of dedicated attorneys and paralegals; all focused on winning cases. While you will receive guidance from a Managing Litigation Attorney and support from a litigation paralegal, this role demands a self-starter who can independently manage their caseload. You will be responsible for drafting substantive motions and managing discovery and disclosure, ensuring all deadlines are met with precision and excellence.
What We Expect From a Top Performer:
Proven or Developing Litigation Skills: You must be an active member of the Arizona Bar. While our preference is for you to have experience in Title 14 litigation (estate planning, probate/trusts, and guardianship/conservatorship); we will consider attorneys who demonstrate a strong aptitude and eagerness to develop expertise in this area.
Client-Centered Focus: Top performers prioritize the client experience. You must possess exceptional communication skills and a genuine desire to keep clients informed and supported throughout the legal process.
Detail-Oriented and Adaptable: The ability to manage details meticulously and respond effectively to urgent situations is crucial. You should thrive in a fast-paced environment where deadlines can change rapidly.
Tech-Savvy Mindset: We value efficiency and innovation. You should be comfortable leveraging legal technology to enhance your work and client service.
Long-Term Commitment: We are invested in our employees’ success and seek individuals who are looking for a long-term career where they can grow, contribute, and build a lasting legacy.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all stages of litigation, from drafting and reviewing pleadings to representing clients in hearings.
Conduct thorough discovery and disclosure, and take depositions to build strong cases. In short, out-work the other side.
Provide proactive and transparent communication with clients throughout the duration of their case.
You don’t have to be a rainmaker or work on law firm business related administrative tasks. Your responsibility is to be a lawyer and litigate cases.
Qualifications:
Required: Active license to practice law in Arizona.
Desired: Experience in Title 14 litigation, comfort with probate litigation, and familiarity with estate planning.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to adapt to new technology.
Compensation:
We offer a total compensation package of $106,500+ – $146,500+, commensurate with experience. Details regarding our comprehensive benefits package will be provided to candidates during the application process.
$10,000 signing bonus paid at 30 ($2,500), 60 ($2,500) and 90 days ($5,000).
No minimum billable hour requirement and paid professional liability insurance, AZ Bar dues, and CLEs.
