Hamilton Miller & Birthisel LLP is currently seeking experienced Paralegals for full-time positions in their litigation defense practice, specializing in insurance defense, including automotive/transportation, premises/bodily injury, first-party property cases & more.

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

5+ years’ experience in insurance defense preferred, specifically in the the areas of auto/trucking/transportation and worker’s compensation, but will consider candidates with 2-3 years’ experience

3-5 years’ experience in general liability/ premises/bodily injury and first-party property

Skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Highly organized, detail-oriented, a team player, and capable of multitasking

Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook

Familiarity with state and federal court rules

Ability to follow client billing guidelines and manage billing entries

Prior trial experience is a plus

Responsibilities:

Locate and contact factual witness

Draft witness and exhibit lists

Organize case documents accurately

Identify and reach out to experts, assist in preparing hearing and trial notebooks, and support during trials

Conduct initial case investigations, gather facts, draft pleadings and discovery documents (interrogatories, requests for production)
