We are partnering with a top national title and insurance risk management organization to hire an Underwriter Paralegal to support a high‑volume commercial real estate and finance practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal with real estate and/or corporate experience who is interested in expanding into underwriting and title risk management. Training is provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage correspondence among all parties to commercial transactions
- Confirm receipt and accuracy of title commitments, Schedule B documents, vesting deeds, tax information, and closing checklists
- Process purchaser and lender title objections and requests
- Review surveys in coordination with local and in‑house underwriters
- Assist Underwriters with the preparation of revised title commitments, pro forma policies, closing checklists, and clearance spreadsheets and undertakings.
- Organize and maintain transaction files to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Communicate with field offices regarding documents, affidavits, recording requirements, transfer and mortgage taxes, leasehold taxes, real estate taxes, and other clearance matters
- Prepare and distribute recording and policy issuance packages and follow up on post‑closing items for single‑site and small multi‑site transactions
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Underwriter or Manager
