Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned):
Draft and prepare legal and non-legal documents (e.g., pleadings, complaints, motions, subpoenas, general correspondence, etc.)
Heavy billing/time entry ability required
High level of communication skills required in order to communicate on behalf of attorneys
Strong verbal and composition skills required
Transcribe, compose and type routine correspondence
Order and summarize medical records; prepare comprehensive medical analyses
Ability to scrutinize a high volume of medical records daily
Confer with court personnel
Prepare legal correspondence with limited guidance
Perform clerical duties as needed
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree and five years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience including knowledge of format, procedures and specialized terminology.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions. Ability to compose complex legal documents, correspondence, and memoranda.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Skills and Abilities
: Ability to type a minimum of 50 wpm utilizing current word processing software; ability to use photocopy, fax and other equipment to complete documents; ability to establish and maintain cordial and courteous working relationships with co-workers, other firm employees and outside contacts in a fast-paced demanding environment.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
